If you can't nod your head to it, it ain't worth s**t.

Phat bass, mashed beats and more funk than you can shake a stick at. Served upon a bed of scratching; topped with a lick of lyrical madness makes up newtownbreaks.

The 4th Night After Christmas - Friday, January 18, 2008

malthouse gig.jpg

newtownbreaks played a storming set with fresh new tunes and favourites you all know from the Telford Volume 1 EP.

Rope & Phinetic where giving it large with skill unparallel. While MisterFox and FilthyMusic VJing chopped it up to keep the crowd mesmerized...

The night was one of the best for hip hop ever to hit the Malthouse. You never know things might look up for us head nodders.

Plastic Surgery Gig - Tuesday, November 07, 2006

newtownbreaks showed they can still do it, even with just two members. MisterFox and Rope played a brand new 4 track set to a crowd of hungry hip hop headz. All tracks were produced by MisterFox, making sure the beats were phat and the bass was phatter! A guest appearance from Big Ross joined Rope on the mic.

Look out on the Music page as there might be a new track for you all to check out soon. (Bedroom production permitting!)

Stripped down gig - Thursday, October 19, 2006

As mentioned in the Events section, newtownbreaks ARE playing at "Plastic Surgery" on the 4th November. The ONLY true hip hop event in shropshire. If you are down with your hip hop, DJ skillz and B'boyism. Then get yo bad self down to churchill's bar in wellington!

Its a shortened line up for newtownbreaks, but we will still bring you what you need!

Back to the Old School - Tuesday, October 10, 2006

Well newtownbreaks has evolved yet again. The band has slimed down to just three core members. There will be guest apperences from other musicians along the way, but for now its 'we three'.

Moving toward's an increasded phatness of electronic funk, look out for more samples, more fun, and more stellas.

Battle of the Bands - Wednesday, July 12, 2006

Well, a good night for NewTownBreaks. Yeah, we are through to round 2 of the Battle of the Bands!! The energy was up and the whole band really enjoyed playing tonight and it showed. A good crowd welcomed us to Fusion and despite some sound issues (maily caused by the lack of sound check and the fact that we were in a night club, but thats how things go..) NewTownBreaks were recieved with wide eyes and interest.

The three song set kept the crowd on its toes, always wondering what was coming next. Grace and Rich out front were amazing and made their way into the crowd dancing and singing as they went. MisterFoxs scratching drew the eyes of the bemused Telfordites to a skill not often seen in these parts. They keys, drums and bass funked it up and there were a few chicken heads out there.

Overall we saw we played we conquered. Roll on the 23rd August and the semi final.. Come down and support us cos you know we need something new, something breaky, something funky, something true. Photos are here..

Thanks for the support those who made it, and see you next time the ones who didn't..

Royal Navy Club Newport - Tuesday, July 11, 2006
NewTownbreaks have performed at the Newport Open Mic night at the Royal Navy Club tonight (photos here..). We were received really well, with shouts of "more, more!" from the crowd at the end of our stint on the mic. We were commended by the regulars for supplying great musicianship along with something a little different from the norm. A couple of offers of gigs later and it seems we are very ready for the Battle of the Bands tomorrow. We have the Telford rockers quaking in their black boots. Bring it on!
